About Me
Doug Thompson, as leader of his team of title professionals, has 36 years of Real Estate
related Industry experience. In 1985 Doug started his career as a residential realtor with
Century 21 in the Southern California area and enjoyed a successful four year career in real
estate sales.
He then made a move to the escrow/closing sector with a successful term at Burrow
Escrow and 1031 Exchange Services. Doug was ‘Affiliate of the Year’ for the West Orange
County Association of Realtors representing Burrow Escrow. This experience provided
Doug with lessons on just about every aspect of real estate, financing, creative transaction
structuring and 1031 Exchanges.
In 1993 Doug was given the opportunity to work with California Counties Title, which was a
great place to learn the title industry. Doug used this first opportunity to work in the title
industry to learn the business from “searching” to “closing”. At Cal Counties Title Doug was
an innovator in creating pre-sale preliminary title and summary grading reports for his
Fannie Mae short-sale clientele. During his tenure at Cal Counties Title Doug continuously
worked on his personal dedication to high quality standards and outstanding customer
relationships.
Doug began his 23 year stint with Lawyers Title in 1986 and quickly became a great asset
including Assistant Vice President, Sales. At Lawyers Title Doug had a multi-faceted career
working in residential, lending, commercial and default title services. Doug was ranked in
the top 5% nationally in sales for all Fidelity Brands on multiple occasions.
Today Doug works at WFG National Title, the 6th largest underwriter in the nation, and
celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2020. Doug is a Vice President of Sales and loves
working for a technology based nimble company that is able to create custom title related
solutions for their residential, lending, commercial, and default service clients.
Doug Thompson is a member of The Women’s Council of Realtors, The Escrow Institute of
California and a member of REOMAC since 2002.
