Andrew J. Boylan is a Managing Partner with McCarthy & Holthus, LLP overseeing Risk Management & Compliance for the firm. After graduating from the University of San Diego, he received his JD from the University of San Diego School of Law and his MBA from the University of San Diego Graduate School of Business Administration. Over the years, he has served on several industry group committees and boards and has received the following honors: the Phil Adleson Award and the New Member of the Year Award (UTA), the Picture the Future Award (ALFN), and the Future Leaders Program (CMBA). He regularly speaks on regulatory and legal compliance issues at industry events. Mr. Boylan has received an AV Preeminent Rating from Martindale-Hubbell® by members of the Bar and Judiciary in both legal ability and ethical standards. He is licensed to practice law in the States of California and Washington.
Michelle A. Mierzwa
Partner, Compliance Division Wright Finlay & Zak
Michelle A. Mierzwa joined Wright, Finlay & Zak’s Compliance, Licensing and Regulatory Division in 2015, providing loan originators, lenders, servicers, trustees and others in the mortgage industry with state and federal compliance and regulatory counsel. Since 1998, her accomplishments include the management and resolution of litigated matters through jury and bench trials and appellate practice, creating the legal department for one of the largest non-judicial foreclosure trustees in the Western United States, the coordination of compliance audits, and managing the California branch of a national law firm. Ms. Mierzwa has worked with lenders and mortgage servicers of all sizes to ensure their compliance with state and federal laws, including, but not limited to, California Consumer Privacy Act, California and Nevada Homeowner Bill of Rights, state and federal FDCPA, RESPA, TILA, SCRA, Washington Foreclosure Fairness Act, Nevada, Oregon and Washington Foreclosure Mediation Programs, Dodd-Frank Act and CFPB Rules, state licensing laws, and governmental and regulatory agency investigations.
Greg Phillips
Deputy General Counsel, Auction.com
Greg Phillips is Deputy General Counsel for Auction.com, the nation’s largest real estate foreclosure auctioneer. Greg launched Auction.com’s foreclosure sale marketing and auctioneering services over 13 years ago and has been deeply involved in navigating the legislative and regulatory hurdles that have emerged at both the state and federal levels since that time. Greg received his bachelor’s degree from UCLA and his J.D. from USC. He currently lives in Orange County, California with his wife, Melanie, and two young daughters.
Erik Sellfors
Broker/Owner, Cambridge Homes
Since the age of eight, Erik has been involved in flipping homes alongside his parents. In 1987, at just 19 years old, he began his career in real estate, selling properties in the San Fernando Valley. By 1992, Erik received his first REO (Real Estate Owned) assignment, marking the start of a distinguished career working with major banks, servicers, and government agencies, including Fannie Mae and HUD.
Today, Erik is the Broker/Owner of Cambridge Homes, with offices in both North Los Angeles and the Palm Springs area. Throughout his career, he has been fortunate to build lasting relationships with friends and colleagues in the industry. One of the greatest honors has been serving on the board of the National Association of Default Professionals (NADP), where he has contributed to the legislation and advocacy efforts, closely monitoring legal changes that impact the industry. More recently, Erik has helped lead webinars addressing critical issues facing the industry today.
When Erik isn’t working, his greatest joy comes from spending time with his kids, whether surfing or skiing, making cherished memories in the outdoors.
